The tour begins with an introduction to the city of Dublin, as we head south towards County Wicklow, known affectionately as the “Garden of Ireland”. Beautiful lakes, dense forests and romantic streams make this a wonderful scenic drive and a beautiful day outside the big city.
See the scenario made famous by films like Braveheart and P.S. I love you. We make our way over the mountains from Wicklow to Glendalough (minimum 90 minutes stop) – the valley of the two lakes. Enjoy a relaxing stroll to Lake Superior and explore the monastic ruins of St Kevin’s monastery, including its round towers, Celtic crosses and more.
We start with an introduction to the city of Dublin, after which we leave the city behind and head south towards the Wicklow Mountains. Meet your fellow travelers for a great trip to the “Garden of Ireland”. As we leave the city, we pass Sugarloaf Mountain and descend through Ireland's highest village, Roundwood, on the way to the magnificent Glendalough.
Recognized for its magnificent landscapes and its rich and varied heritage in terms of history and archeology, Glendalough is famous for Braveheart's wedding scenes and is truly one of the most beautiful visitor sites in all of Ireland. You will have 1.5 hours to explore the deep valley with its ruins of Celtic crosses, round towers and more. Known as the valley of 2 lakes, we enjoy a pleasant walk along the riverbank, through the woods where we are greeted by murmuring streams, crystal waterfalls and Glendalough lakes. A perfect moment of the real image.
We returned to Dublin, delighted with our wonderful half-day tour and great photos and memories to last a lifetime.
